🌡️ Cooking Tips:
- We recommend using a simple instant-read cooking thermometer for the most accurate cooking temperature. Avoid leaving the thermometer in the turkey. Alternatively, check the thigh with a fork or skewer; the juices should run clear, not pink.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Remove giblets from under the neck skin and the neck from the cavity the day before to create a flavorful broth for your stuffing and gravy. If cooking without stuffing, season the cavity and the outside of the bird with salt, pepper, or poultry rub. Fill the cavity with a peeled, quartered onion, cut-up celery, and place the bird in a large roasting pan with one cup of water (or more, depending on the turkey's size).
- If you're stuffing the turkey, fill the cavity and under the neck skin with your favorite stuffing. Then, truss the turkey by tying the legs together and place it in the pan. Brush the outside of the bird with melted butter or cooking oil and put it in the oven.
- After 45 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F and continue cooking, basting 2-3 times throughout the process. Cover the bird with a foil tent for the last hour.
