We're excited to bring you this new, very special European-style cultured butter from Stepladder Creamery!
Local through and through, Stepladder's Cultured Butter is made with 100% cow's milk heavy cream and a dash of sea salt. This butter, just like all of Stepladder's cheeses, is made the old fashioned way. It starts as slow culture cream for a week, which turns it into beautiful crème fraiche, or sour cream. Then, it's churned into small batches, their Cheesemongers work out the buttermilk, and and add a hint of salt. Each one is formed into ~6 oz balls and wrapped by hand.
Use anywhere you'd normally eat or use butter - spread over crusty bread, on top of shelfish, on grilled veggies or in a savory sauce. Because it’s a little tangy, it also goes well with sweet treats like waffles, pancakes or biscuits. Best stored in the fridge in an airtight container and served at room temp.
Once you try this butter it will spoil you for all the rest!
Average size is 6 oz per ball of butter.
