Miyagi Oysters by the dozen

It was hard to open the shells, but they were so fresh and tasty!

We had friends over for a dinner and served the crabmeat with fish fillets and oysters. It was as if we were in heaven :-). The Miyagi oysters were fantastic.

These Miyagi Oysters are always so fresh! 4th time ordering these. Love them with a little Spicy Lime Cilantro Mignonette or some freshly made Cocktail Sauce!

3/4 good, batch not as fresh as before

The fish was terrific, as always. I have become accustomed to early afternoon delivery, so we were planning a 5pm sushi extravaganza. When I saw the scheduled 5:10 delivery, we pushed the dinner to 6:00. By the time we took delivery at 6:55, we had lost 5 guests.

First time ordering oysters and teaching myself to shuck them! The 2 dozen Miyagis we received were fresh as could be! I only had to discard 3 (2 shells open and one slightly cloudy). Will be ordering again!

This is the third time that I ordered these Miyagi oysters. And they are always sooo FRESH! Ate them with some homemade Hogwash, cocktail sauce and a little hot sauce. Sooo Good ...can't wait to order them again!

Hit or miss lately with quality but usually at least half of the batch are good

OK, a bit on the dry side, but still excellent flavor. Wouldn't wait to wait any longer to eat them tho.

Miyagi oysters were superb as usual! We had 5 doz this time and everyone was perfect. Love ordering fish and other goodies from FourStar. It’s always top quality.

All the fish was excellent as always. Is there any way to choose a time slot for delivery? I was hosting guests who needed to eat early, and my eta was 5, which was cutting it close but was doable. And all of a sudden it was switched to an hour later, which caused problems for us. I had to go out and buy food from Safeway to feed my guests knowing that I had all this seafood coming my way. Honestly, my inability to predict and prepare for the arrival time is going to affect my willingness to order again.

Great on the half shell

Meat was delicious and fresh. Shells contained a bit less brine than I'm used to, and — I realize I'm being really picky here — the Standish Shore oysters in the same order were already washed, but the miyagis were covered in mud. Added a bit of extra effort to my prep - not a giant deal, I guess.

Miyagi's pictured in the back , Steamboats in front!! Delicous, delivered quickly and stayed cold in the fridge with the packed ice until it was time to crack them open! Easy to open, all were alive and delicious. Already ordered again :)

So fresh! Made a Hog Wash Mignonette sauce and we slurped them all down for Christmas apps! Thank you for making it so easy to enjoy great fresh seafood at home!

I am over the moon being able to order just a dozen oysters so that I can practice shucking. Although to be honest, I could easily eat many many more (Shhhh, don't tell anyone!) These miyagis are delicious with just some fresh lemon juice although next time I'm going to make a Hog Wash!

So fresh they taste sweet and briny

Small but fresh and taste sweet like Kumamotos

Fresh, delicious with a squeeze of lemon to taste the brininess of the bay.

Super fresh and delish. I had it in my fridge for 2 days before shucking them. Super easy to shuck as well. Wish they were a tad bit larger though...

These things are super tasty! Lovely mild sweet flavor. Makes you wish you ordered another dozen.

As always, these oysters were a huge hit. Delicious, fresh, and perfectly delivered on time.

We got 54 (!) oysters for two people and loved them ALL! 10 each Beausoleil, Standish Shore and St. Simon, two dozen Miyagis. Beausoleil maybe my favorite, but have never had Standish Shore or St. Simon before so it was nice to try them. We made mignonette and cocktail sauces and finished with caramel gelato. YUM!

It was sweet and just perfect!

These oysters were delicious, fresh, and the perfect size for a cocktail type appetizer! We made a rice wine vinegar and shallot sauce that paired very well with their delicate flavor, and of course the classic lemon and hot sauce combo really brought out all the delicate flavor and silky texture.

Fried the spot prawn heads for an appetizer which was delicious. Sautéed the tails (photo) in butter and wine. I made a salad using cucumbers & dill also from Four Star. We also tried the Opah for the first time this time. Wow! That was one of the best pieces of fish ever. Just pan sear lightly in butter and yum! Four Star also has excellent Brussels sprouts and fresh herbs. Ordering from these guys is like Christmas.

Fresh, incredibly delicious and spectacular delivery.

The oysters were extremely fresh and we enjoyed them with just a dash of homemade cocktail sauce. They were the perfect size for a quick appetizer and easy to open. Like all seafood we receive from Four Star, these were better than anything we could purchase at a grocery store!

We have really loved the experience of buying fresh seafood directly from Four Star! Fresh oysters are our favorite and with practice, we have become adept shuckers. Highly recommended!
